Jochen Zeitz
Jochen Zeitz collects contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora, and his Zeitz Collection, founded in 2002, turned towards that focus around 2008-2009. More than 1,000 of his works were placed on loan to Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town, which he co-founded with the V&A Waterfront and curator Mark Coetzee. The collection formed the basis of the museum, which opened in 2017.
