Method
What gets an entry in, and what stays out.
Inclusion
An entry needs at least two public sources documenting the collecting of contemporary art. Sources may include press, institutional pages and a collection's own website. Own websites and sponsored articles are labelled in the source list, so readers can weigh them. Inclusion is not a ranking or an endorsement. Entries are listed alphabetically.
What we record
Collecting focus, artists named by a source, public institutions, institutional roles and professional background. A field stays empty when no source supports it.
What we leave out
Home addresses, private contact details, children, health, net worth and wealth rankings. A spouse is named only when a collection is publicly held jointly.
Limits
Artist lists show what sources name, not full holdings. Private collections change without notice, so check the last verified date on each entry.
